Will you unlock the world for a deafblind child like Áine?

When Áine first came to a Sensory Explorers group her parents weren't sure how to connect with her – until one moment unlocked her world.

Every day a child like Áine spends without proper support is an extra day they spend closed off from the world. For most families with a disabled child the services they need aren’t there.

With your support we can reach more children who need us. Thank you.

Sensory Explorers groups help disabled children with complex needs to learn through play, and build confidence and connections in a safe and supportive environment.

Your £15 a month could go towards an entire Sensory Explorers group for up to six children. During each two-hour session, Sense specialists like Anne can use various techniques and sensory toys to encourage children to use their senses – unlocking a world of exploration.

Your £10 a month could go towards an hour of guided play with a Sense specialist during Sensory Explorers. In that hour, a Sense specialist like Anne can use various techniques and sensory toys to encourage children to use their senses – unlocking a world of exploration.

Your £20 a month could go towards a messy play kit to use during a session. Complete with gooey slime, specialist colours that ‘pop!’ and ‘crackle!’ when added to water, instant snow, and a fun set of tools to improve motor skills and tray to keep everything together!

Sensory Explorers groups help disabled children with complex needs to learn through play, and build confidence and connections in a safe and supportive environment.

Your £43 donation could pay for an hour of guided play. In that hour, a Sense specialist like Anne can use various techniques and sensory toys to encourage children to use their senses – unlocking a world of exploration.

Your £30 could provide a percussion instrument for sound and vibration. When a child hits something and it goes bang with vibrations it’s a great way of teaching cause and effect.

Your £120 gift could pay for a carousel of chimes for sound and vibration. When a child reaches out to run their hands through the chimes, and is instantly rewarded with the tinkling sounds and vibrations – that’s a great way of teaching cause and effect.

Your £15 donation could pay for a tactile star to use during a session. At each session, we pass around a basket full of tactile toys, each associated with a different song.

"We’d unlocked our child. That was my immediate thought when Anne from Sense used that sensory glove to get a reaction from Áine. I think that was the first time I saw her face light up!

Your kind gift will do the same for another disabled child with complex needs. Thank you so, so much!"

Claire, Áine's proud mum
